Lynda Schiappa told the Beautification Committee that the Public Arts Commission would be willing to run a scarecrow competition for the fall celebration and discussed a proposed 'Taste of Palos' event for Sept. 26, 2026. The minutes note suggested approaches including resident-built scarecrows and business sponsorships.
Katherine (Katie) Einhorn suggested recruiting residents to create the scarecrows and asking businesses to sponsor entries. No formal budget, locations or operational plan was approved at the meeting.
