Committee to pursue redo of Butterfly Mural; pledges up to $1,000

Lynda Schiappa reported that the Butterfly Mural on the High 5 building is delaminating because an improper base paint was used when the building was repainted. PAC members proposed redoing the mural and adding a second, smaller butterfly; the committee agreed it should be completed in time for the opening of the Farmers Market.
The minutes record that “Jeff will see if the city can assist in some way, Lynda will reach out to the original artist Tori Lanz for the redo and follow up with Adam to determine how to proceed.” The Beautification Committee agreed it would contribute up to $1,000 toward the project if needed. PAC staffing levels were also discussed: PAC reportedly is down to two commissioners and members suggested outreach to Judy Collins, Lois Stanciak and Wendy as potential recruits.
