Commission approves single‑story addition at 15600 Winchester Boulevard

The Monte Sereno Site and Architectural Commission on July 9 approved a site-development permit (application 20253040) to add an approximately 621-square-foot single-story addition to an existing house at 15600 Winchester Boulevard. The motion to approve passed unanimously following staff presentation and brief commissioner comments.

Danielle Gonzales, consulting assistant planner, presented the proposal and said: "Tonight, I'm presenting a request for site development permit to construct a 1 story addition of approximately 621 square feet to an existing house at 15600 Winchester Boulevard." Gonzales stated there are no trees proposed for removal and that materials and architectural features will match the existing house; staff recommended approval as conditioned in the memorandum of decision.

An applicant participating by phone said this was the first submission for the property and described family needs for additional space, noting an on-site ADU currently houses the applicant's mother. A commissioner who visited the site said story poles are up and, after reviewing sight lines, "I don't see any obstructions to views for the neighbors," concluding the addition appears straightforward.

The commission opened the public hearing, received no public comment, closed the hearing, and voted to approve the permit by unanimous roll call. The chair then closed the item and the meeting moved to adjournment.
