Monte Sereno council adopts FY 2025–26 budget; staff to refine fund reporting after ERP implementation

Council adopted the city’s FY 2025–26 budget after staff said no changes had been made since the May 6 review. Council discussed capital projects and noted the budget presentation will be updated once the Tyler ERP is implemented.
Staff reminded council that the city adopted a two-year budget on June 18, 2024 and that the FY 2025–26 update reflects no substantive changes since the May 6 review. The staff report noted that next year staff will present updated budget formats with fund balances once the new financial software is implemented.
Council members asked about capital projects (including the prior community center bids) and whether any items appear in the operating budget; staff confirmed capital projects are included in the budget’s project columns and provided a cost-range memory for an option to make the building usable. After discussion a council member moved to approve the budget; the motion was seconded and passed by roll-call.
