Trustees approve library 'reading garden' adjustments after accounting for landscaping costs
Summary
Board approved $185,234 in adjustments and change orders for the library patio/reading garden project; trustees said $67,000 of that reflected landscaping that had been removed from the original bid and later restored, and the project remains fully funded by library and Friends contributions plus village commitment.

The Board reviewed and approved change orders and adjustments for the Bronxville Library patio — which trustees agreed should be called the 'Reading Garden' — and were told the original low bid from Tony Casale was $646,000. Staff said total adjustments amounted to $185,234, but that approximately $67,000 of that was landscaping that had been removed from the original scope and subsequently included.
"The original low bid from Tony Casale was 646,000," the village administrator said when summarizing costs. Trustees were told the Friends of the Library and other contributions plus the village's prior commitment have the project fully covered. Additional ADA upgrades and proposed front-walkway lighting were noted as items for future agendas.
