The Bronxville Board of Trustees approved a resolution authorizing purchase and financing of an upgraded building-department software package intended to replace an antiquated system and allow online permit applications and account access.
"I just was curious about the, the annual maintenance fee of 12,500," said a trustee (speaker 5) during discussion, asking whether the amount covers licensing, upgrades or other services. Jim Palmer, village administrator, explained the fee covers annual updates and vendor support: "What it is is that there's always, there's annual maintenance that we need, not the least of which includes upgrades to the software each and every year," he said, noting the village evaluated multiple providers before recommending the chosen product.
Trustees voted to approve the purchase and financing; the board emphasized the upgrade will allow fillable forms, applicant accounts and improved interoperability with other Westchester municipalities using similar systems.
