Superintendent Dr. Bobby Ott opened the recognitions portion of the March 17 meeting by noting several recent honors across Temple ISD. Wildflower Magazine received a Superior Rating in the REALM contest for the second consecutive year and is one of 21 Texas publications to earn that rating.
Athletics achievements included ten Temple High School swim team members qualifying for regionals; the THS girls powerlifting team were Regional Champions with four athletes qualifying for state and a second-place finish at state; and the wrestling program had one state qualifier. The district also recorded departmental awards: the TISD Purchasing Department received a TASBO Award of Merit and the Communications Department won seven Star Awards at the TSPRA Convention.
The board acknowledged these accomplishments during the meeting; no motions or votes were associated with the recognitions segment.
