The Monte Sereno City Council adopted a resolution confirming the 2025 weed-abatement report and authorizing collection of assessment charges after staff reported improved compliance. Maddie, speaking for the city's weed-abatement program, told the council: "Last year, we were at 15. You guys have 7 parcels now that are on the program." She described a new process allowing property owners to email or text photos to demonstrate compliance prior to reinspection.
Staff said most owners addressed noncompliance after being contacted; one property retained a $210 charge for two reinspection fees. The council moved and seconded the resolution and adopted it by roll call. Staff indicated the program will continue outreach and improved communications under the new manager.
