Council adopts two rezoning ordinances for Flatwater and highway commercial tract

After brief public hearings the Valley City Council adopted two ordinances changing zoning designations for separate properties. Ordinance No. 845 rezoned Lot 1, Flatwater Development Addition Replat 3 from medium/high‑density residential (R‑2) to lakefront residential (R‑3); no members of the public spoke during the hearing and the council suspended the three‑reading rule and adopted the ordinance.
Separately, Ordinance No. 846 rezoned a described tract (legal description in minutes) from transitional ag/highway commercial (TA/C‑3) to all highway commercial (C‑3). Jeff Stoll of E & A Consulting Group addressed the council to clarify intent; the council again suspended the three‑reading rule and adopted the ordinance by unanimous vote. Copies of both ordinances are on file at City Hall.
