Melanie Hayden elected council president as two new members sworn in

At its Feb. 10 meeting the Valley City Council accepted local election results, swore in Bill Socha and Jimmy Dean, and unanimously elected Melanie Hayden as council president.
The Valley City Council on Feb. 10 accepted certified election results and administered oaths of office to two newly elected council members. City Attorney Matt Munderloh administered the oath to Bill Socha and Jimmy Dean after Clerk Christie Donnermeyer read the results, which the council accepted by motion.
Melanie Hayden was nominated and elected council president with a 4–0 vote: YES — J. Lewis, Socha, Dean and Hayden; NO — none. Mayor Linda Lewis called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and the council moved through routine business including approval of a multi-item consent agenda that listed Jan. payroll of $124,559.40 and Keno receipts of $7,089.54.
