Board revises hazard mitigation review group to internal working group

By Resolution 2026-131 the Shelter Island Town Board amended the earlier Resolution 486 (Dec. 22, 2025) to state that the 2026 Hazard Mitigation Plan Review Group will function as an internal working group rather than an official Town committee. The resolution names participating officials and staff including Chief Read, Sgt. Anthony Rando, Supervisor Amber Brach-Williams, Councilwoman Elizabeth Hanley, Highway Superintendent Kenneth Lewis, Town Engineer Joseph Finora, Building Department Inspector Karen Reed, and Grant Writer Jennifer Mesiano.
The clarification keeps the review function within Town staff and designated officials to assist development and review of the 2026 Hazard Mitigation Plan; the resolution leaves Resolution 486 otherwise in effect.
