Senator Kathleen Reibe addressed the board during the public participation portion of the April 15 study session, thanking Business Administrator Todd Hauber for his presence at the Capitol during the legislative session and praising Superintendent Horsley's correspondence. "Superintendent Horsley’s letter at the end of the session was perfect," she said, and added that it was "nice to see Julie Jackson there speaking on behalf of public education."
Reibe said the interim study will look at administrator salaries and chronic absenteeism and invited input from the board and administration. She also encouraged people who support public education to consider running for office, framing civic engagement as an avenue for supporters to influence policy.
