Council hears public works report; sludge pond work and leak search planned

“Our men were to work sludge pond as discussed prior... We need to contract a company,” Davisson said during his report. The council accepted the public works report by recorded vote (Approved - 5, Opposed - 0). Councilors asked staff to prioritize downtown weed-eating and to follow up on sludge-pumping options; Davisson warned against using the sewage truck to move rock and recommended contracting a specialist for sludge removal.
Council discussion included staffing hours at the water plant, extra pumping needs during drought conditions, and coordinating with leak-detection resources. Follow-up tasks assigned to public works include obtaining contractor quotes for sludge removal and reporting back to the council.
