The Glendale council discussed plans to hold the Apple Festival on Sept. 26, with staff organizing vendor booths and outreach to performers. Staff said they are preparing signup forms and already have interested vendors; council members discussed whether to commission a new logo for festival-branded merchandise and whether to allocate festival proceeds to seed future events.
Staff described two band options: $400 for two performers (partial band) or $1,000 for a full band; they said last year’s festival profit was about $3,000. “The last year, from what we can tell, they profited about $3,000,” a staff member said while proposing a $40-per-booth fee. Council members discussed a plan to create a dedicated festival account and the potential for cross-promotion with nearby events to boost attendance.
Members agreed to form a small committee and requested the staff bring traffic analytics from the current website and final booth/expense numbers before making a firm decision on logo design or larger budget allocations.
