Brian Reed, the city’s public works director, reported on July 14 that Kimberly’s pumps are operating normally except in Kimberly Meadows, where many residents irrigating at the same time are overloading the system. Reed said the pattern causes pumps to attempt multiple restarts before shutting down to protect the motor and that residents should “not water all at the same time and to adhere to their assigned watering days.”
Reed emphasized that continued noncompliance could lead to repeated pump cycling and potential equipment damage and urged neighborhood adherence to the established schedule. Council took the update as informational and did not take formal action at the meeting.
