Appellant says redactions could hide who owns airport fuel; warns of financial risks

Mister Sibley told the board the central issue is whether the county identified a lawful basis to withhold contract terms that bear directly on fuel ownership and the airports financial projections.
"If the agreement reflects a different ownership structure than the underlying projections, this information is highly relevant to both the board and the public," he said, noting commissioners had seen projections showing "approximately a $1,800,000 profit for the operation of the county run FPO." Sibley said he had obtained unredacted fuel agreements from other Michigan airports to show that ownership and pricing provisions are commonly disclosed and that Marquette Countys redactions warranted review.
