The Flambeau School District board on May 21 approved several personnel actions covering resignations, hires, raises and contracts.
The board accepted the resignation of the district's Community Education director (motion by Laura Dutter-Nelson; seconded by Jennifer Heath), and approved hiring Elizabeth Schmidt as head varsity girls basketball coach; the roll-call vote on Schmidt's hire recorded one abstention from President Ted Alberson and six yes votes. The board also approved coaching contracts for the 2025–2026 winter season by unanimous roll call.
On compensation, the board approved a 2.95% pay increase for support staff (recorded with one abstention) and approved an updated advisor pay scale to be added to the employee handbook; the advisor pay-scale vote was recorded 6-1 after discussion about advisor duties and time commitments. Following closed session, the board approved administration contracts for 2025–2026 as recommended by Interim District Administrator Sheri Kopka, with a specific provision that the maintenance director would receive only 50% of the proposed pay increase "due to his time in his position." The board also approved bus drivers' contracts for 2025–2026.
The minutes record vote tallies where given but do not include contract text, salary-band details, or the Community Education director's effective resignation date.
