The Kermit ISD Board of Trustees on May 28 accepted final completion of the district's tennis courts project and authorized final payment to Hellas Construction, Inc., including release of retainage totaling $43,147.75. Superintendent Oscar Muniz recommended the Board find the project 100% complete and execute the Certificate of Final Completion.
Board Secretary Lorina Lujan moved to accept final completion and authorize the Superintendent to execute the Certificate of Final Completion and issue the final payment; Trustee Edward Davila, Sr. seconded. The motion was approved by a unanimous vote of the four members present. The votes recorded in the minutes indicate four "yes" votes and three absentees (Ramiro Antillon, Miguel Urquidi and Aaron Hardaway). The action was taken as part of the district's 2023 bond project work.
The Board's approval authorizes the superintendent to sign the formal certificate and release contract retainage to the contractor. The minutes do not record additional conditions, amendments, or follow-up tasks attached to this approval.
