The Town Manager told trustees that the contractor previously working on the park pavilion is no longer on the project and that the town needs to solicit new bids. Current bids were reported to be much higher than the original bid because of site complexity, prompting the board to direct staff to rebid.
Trustees did not adopt a specific funding plan at the Jan. 15 meeting; the board’s direction was to move the procurement process forward so the pavilion can be completed as funding and bids allow.
The minutes state the new-bid process was authorized by direction to the Town Manager rather than by a formal motion to award a contract.
