Deputy Director Katie Bronson told the board that WEDC's Small Business Week campaign produced 108 nominations and 53 nominated businesses across the county. Bronson said nominations came from across the majority of villages and towns in Wayne County and that social media and local reposting helped spread awareness.
Member Pamela Heald said she saw many businesses reposting nomination posts and asked the board to expand outreach in future years to include businesses in every town, not only those nominated publicly. Executive Director Brian Pincelli recommended follow-up promotional work, including a press release and using testimonial videos to track winners' progress.
