Deputy Director Katie Bronson told the board that the 2026 Wayne County Pitch Competition drew the largest turnout since the program began. Bronson said the WEDC has received 128 total applications since 2018 and has contributed $216,000 to the competition over the years; in 2026 there were 13 student applications and 16 adult applications with 56 people attending the event.
"The winner for the 2026 Pitch Competition was Clay De9cor Studios LLC of Palmyra," the meeting record states; Stonehedge Cafe9 & Market of Marion placed second. Executive Director Brian Pincelli added that workshops and SCORE mentorship programs have produced positive feedback and "improved the quality of their business plans," and confirmed WEDC has produced a promotional testimonial video following up with previous winners.
