Board approves entrance permit, temporary event signage and hears roads update
Summary
The board approved a residential entrance permit for Caleb Miller (37th Street, Southport Township) and a temporary slow-signage request for Irish Meadows Alpaca Farm's open house (Sept. 27–28). Engineering staff also briefed the board on ongoing reclaiming, right-of-way and bridge work including a 90-foot bridge section arriving Friday for Prairie Creek.
Tom Hughes, assistant to the engineer, presented a site-distance study and recommended approval of a residential entrance permit for Caleb Miller on 37th Street in Southport Township; the board moved, seconded and carried the permit approval.
Hughes also presented a request from Irish Meadows Alpaca Farm to place temporary slow-traffic signs for an open house on Sept. 27–28; the sheriff's office had been contacted and the board approved the temporary signage with a motion and second. Engineering staff updated the board on reclaiming and paving progress in Springbrook, Sterling and Bellevue, brush work on Sylvan Switch Road and Prairie Creek bridge logistics (90-foot structure expected Friday). "Looks like an 18 inch, but our recommended for approval," Hughes said of the entrance pipe recommendation for the permit.
