The board reviewed a proposed rural-recycling contract (Dittmer) that had been revised for insurance terms and asked whether the clause naming authorized representatives would allow a single supervisor to act on behalf of the board. Members said they were uneasy that the language might allow a single person to make decisions without full board approval and asked staff to clarify whether the phrase referred to an authorized representative or the board as a whole.
After discussion the board voted to table the contract to get clarification from the contractor and counsel; one supervisor said he would follow up with the contractor and return the item next week. "So why don't we push it till next week and get that clarified?" the chair said. The board voted to table the item by voice vote.
