Wayne County Business Council seeks town support to spread events and networking opportunities

Three representatives of the Wayne County Business Council—Trisha Kuntz, Manda Meenan and Michele Waeghe—attended the Finance Committee to introduce the Council and ask for assistance from supervisors in publicizing Council programs and events. Kuntz, a small business owner, said proceeds from events and festivals have supported local causes including donations to the Palmyra Community Center, airline tickets for veterans, and cancer awareness efforts.
Meenan identified herself as the Macedon Branch Manager at Reliant Credit Union and said she will serve as incoming president of the Council; Waeghe introduced herself as Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager at Lyons National Bank in Macedon and said she is incoming vice president. Supervisors recommended the Council reach out to town clerks and to the county Economic Development and Planning Department to broaden outreach. Upcoming Council events noted in the minutes include a legislative breakfast May 13 at the Palmyra VFW and a networking event June 12 at Fig Hollow in Palmyra.
The Council asked county supervisors to assist with distribution of materials and recruitment; Supervisor Dave Fantuzzo offered to facilitate an introduction to Economic Development staff. The exchanges were introductory and no county funding or formal partnership was authorized at the meeting.
