On April 6 the Wheaton City Council approved a slate of appointments and reappointments to city boards and commissions. Mayor Pro Tem Erica Bray‑Parker moved (seconded by Leah Brice) to appoint Jennifer Laird to the Commission on Aging; Jeff Gissing, Nathan Swartz, Rita Nathanson and William Nieman to the Bicyclist & Pedestrian Commission; Brian Malone to the Environmental Improvement Commission (three‑year terms ending April 6, 2029); and Nicole Aranas (Chair) and Benjamin Blume to the Planning & Zoning Board (five‑year terms ending April 6, 2031). The motion carried unanimously.
Council members thanked the appointees and encouraged their service on advisory bodies that support city programs and planning.
