Rockport principals report smooth openings, 262 elementary students and new programs

An elementary principal reported the elementary school welcomed 262 students pre-K through grade 5, including 31 kindergarten students and 22 preschool students; the principal also noted eight new students in grades 1–5, two new paraprofessionals and two new permanent substitutes. The principal highlighted welcome activities, student photos with "Gigi" (ST Math) and signs promoting inclusion: "everyone welcome, everyone belongs."
The middle/high principal noted roughly 22 new students across grades 6–12, fall sports wins and schedule changes to support a 6–12 instructional model, saying the revised version "2.0" of the schedule is more cohesive. Leadership described facility updates including a reopened senior cafe and plans for a dedicated ceramics studio with a kiln to reduce safety risks from shared kiln use. The district credited PTO, RESA, the Ed Foundation and local businesses (Brothers Brew) for sponsoring breakfast/lunch programs and staff recognition events that honored 82 employees for years of service.
