Superintendent Branca outlines goals tying budget, SDI and community outreach

Superintendent Mark Branca presented his 2025–26 goals to the Rockport School Committee on Sept. 3, and the committee voted to approve them as written. Branca said his major priorities are updating and implementing the Strategy for District Improvement (SDI), aligning the SOA and the budget to that work, and expanding community communications.
"The SDI along with the SOA and along with our budget are those 3 major driving documents," Branca said during his presentation. He proposed continuing the district newsletter "In the Loop" with a target of three issues this year, issuing topical postcards for key dates, exploring podcasting or cable-access partnerships, and providing at least two structured student engagement opportunities with the superintendent.
Branca also listed management and operations priorities: maintaining iterative policy review, promoting a healthy professional culture, and continuing professional growth activities, including a contracted graduate course with Southern New Hampshire University for Rockport teachers. The committee moved, seconded and voted "Aye" to approve the superintendent's goals.
