At the June 4 meeting, Chair Amy Oakes proposed a slate of subcommittee assignments and town liaisons, asking members to indicate interest in taking or continuing roles. Assignments discussed included policy (proposed to be led by Mark and Jess), negotiations (chair and vice chair involvement noted), wellness (Nicole to continue), communication and advocacy (Jessica and Tammy), select board liaison (Tammy), board of health liaison (Mark), and finance committee liaison (Chair).
Mark Lorenz moved to approve the assignments as presented and the motion was seconded; the committee voted 'Aye' and approved the batch of assignments. Chair Oakes said the role of a liaison does not require attendance at every meeting but serves as a point of contact if the select board or other town bodies need to reach the district. Members asked for clarity on expectations for liaisons and for occasional communications so teachers and staff do not feel micromanaged.
The committee also discussed the plan for note-taking and distributing the committee 'cat cards' at the end of the meeting. The approved assignments will guide subcommittee meetings and liaison outreach during the coming year.
