Trustee Mora read language from the resolution saying the district "values equity, diversity, inclusion" and noted state law and district policy prohibit discrimination and harassment. Mora said the resolution reflects district investments such as increased social workers, psychologists at each school, and confidential social‑emotional supports. "By recognizing Pride Month, we support our policies, core values, and practices that honor and respect LGBTQIA plus students, staff, and families," Mora said.
President Grant voted no; trustees Hardin, Mehta, Dossick and Mora voted yes. Trustee Mora asked that the board and staff continue to ensure resources and supports described in the resolution remain in place and accessible. The board will publish the resolution text and related resources for staff and the public.
