The board approved an updated facilities master plan that staff described as a living, web-based document linking deferred maintenance and long-range capital needs.
"We're making a plan for about $1,300,000,000," Associate Superintendent Doug Orr told trustees, clarifying the figure represents potential needs across the district, not available funding. Orr said the update accounts for recent summer projects, infill and periphery building work, and legal and Prop 2 inventory and compliance requirements. The plan is intended to inform public discussion and future bond planning.
Orr said the district would continue to update the web document after projects are completed and noted potential collateral and financing considerations if the district pursues a bond or other instruments. Trustees asked for clarification about Prop 2 compliance and next steps; staff responded that the update aligns inventory and assessed values with state requirements to preserve eligibility for certain state reimbursements.
The board approved the master-plan update by roll call (motion passed 4–0). Staff said further outreach on potential funding mechanisms would follow as the district evaluates bond timing and scope.
