County counsel and staff reviewed an amended Dittmer Recycling contract the board had previously tabled. The contract revisions sent Sept. 9 name Scott Dittmer or an "authorized agent" for Dittmer and allow "any Jackson County supervisor member upon due authorization by the board" to act for the county. John Keyes and staff discussed whether to list both partners (Scott Dittmer and Joe Rettenmeyer) or rely on an authorized‑agent phrase.
Auditor staff and counsel confirmed the contract includes an umbrella or excess liability limit of $4,000,000 in Section 5.01(c). After clarifying language and a brief discussion about listing both partners for clarity, Supervisor Mike moved and Supervisor Ninn seconded to untable the contract and then to approve it "as amended." The board approved both motions by voice vote.
