The Marquette County Board on June 16 approved recommendations for 2% gaming funds provided by KBIC, authorizing pass-through payments and allocations to a list of local organizations. Items included modest awards for county aging services, the health department, county planning, community corrections and others; the Superior Watershed Partnership received a larger award.
Commissioners noted that some organizations received zero in the current round and asked staff to follow up with the tribal scribe to clarify eligibility and timing. County staff said contested eligibility and timely submittal explained why some groups were not funded this round.
