The Marquette County Board approved a Teamsters letter-of-agreement on June 16 to incorporate fixed-base-operator (FBO) job classifications into the county’s existing Teamsters Local 406 bargaining unit for positions tied to airport operations.
Dwayne (staff) and county administration described the agreement as an amendment to existing language covering airport maintenance and operational classifications. Commissioner Benzie moved to adopt the letter-of-agreement; commissioners then held a short question-and-answer period about effective dates and whether wage, sick-leave and uniform allowances align with current county contracts. County staff said the amendment aligns with existing provisions but noted the FBO classifications require additional certifications and different scales.
Following that exchange the board approved the letter-of-agreement on roll call. Commissioners said the agreement will cover 10 new FBO positions and authorized the chair to take action to implement the agreement.
