TEA intruder detection audit prompts district response and staff training

Phillip Prasifka, Chief of Police for Red Oak ISD, briefed the Board on the results of an intruder detection audit conducted by the Texas Education Agency at a district campus on May 9, 2025. He said the district prepared a response plan and provided live staff training at the affected campus prior to summer break.
Chief Prasifka told the Board that TEA requires public notification that an audit occurred and that the district must report back to TEA that all corrective actions have been completed no later than 45 business days after the audit. He indicated the response plan will be shared with the district School Safety and Security Committee and that he would answer additional questions in Closed Session related to security implementation.
