Accounting Assistant Nicci Wright told the board that the districts current bus lease term runs through July 15 and that staff recommended purchasing all buses rather than renewing the lease. Wright stated the purchase would save the district $20,000 compared with continuing the current lease payments.
The motion to adopt the financing resolution was made by Grodi and supported by Fowler. The roll call recorded Yes votes from England, Fortner, Fowler, Grodi and Otting; Nehrig and Waller were absent. The resolution was adopted 5-0.
The resolution authorizes district staff to proceed with the installment purchase process; the minutes do not specify a vendor, a financing partner, or an implementation timeline.
