The Oro Valley Town Council voted 7-0 at a special session Aug. 5 to enter an executive session under Arizona law for legal advice regarding personnel matters. Mr. Standish read the statutory basis aloud, citing ARS 38-431.03(a)(3) as the authority for the closed meeting.
The chair moved that the council go into executive session "with the town attorney, attorneys from Pierce Coleman, and the town clerk," a motion seconded by Council Member Green and approved by voice vote. Council members left the chamber for the closed session and said they would return when it concluded. No substantive details of the personnel matters were discussed in the open session on the record.
