The Bridal City Council on Sept. 3 adopted resolution 2024-O71, accepting the notice of completion for a roof replacement on Montezuma Street. Council member Donnelly asked whether the July 9 second change order to install gutters and downspouts had been part of the original contract; staff responded it had not and was added later at cost.
"2nd change order was requested to install gutters and downspouts," Council member Donnelly said when asking for clarification. The City Manager replied, "It wasn't included in the original scope of work, because staff at that time were very concerned about budget implications. . . . [but] there could be significant maintenance issues down the road if gutters and downspouts were not included," and that the work was put in as a change order after discussion with interim Public Works Director Greg Malcolm. The council then voted by roll call to adopt resolution 2024-O71.
The action formalizes acceptance of the project and closes the contract for the Montezuma Street roof replacement. No members of the public spoke on the item during the meeting. The resolution passed with affirmative roll-call votes from the council members present.
