The Hasbrouck Heights Land Use Board on June 4 adopted the borough's Fourth Round Housing Element and Fair Share Plan, a planning document dated May 22, 2025 that the board planner said will become part of the Hasbrouck Heights Master Plan under the Municipal Land Use Law. Board Planner Edward Sniekus presented the plan and summarized coverage of housing stock, vacant land, senior housing and obligations for low- and moderate-income housing under the Fourth Round requirements.
"The plan dated May 22, 2025 is a document which will become part of the Hasbrouck Heights Master Plan required by the Municipal Land Use Law," Board Planner Edward Sniekus said during the presentation. There was no public comment in favor or opposition. A motion to approve the plan was offered by Albert Cupo and seconded by Vincent Risalvato; the roll call recorded unanimous support from those voting and the resolution was adopted.
The board and planner emphasized the need to complete adoption ahead of the June 30, 2025 timeframe set out as part of the Fair Share Housing Act revisions mentioned in the presentation. The transcript records the presentation and formal vote; as adopted, the plan will be forwarded per the board's normal filing and master-plan amendment procedures.
