Roma ISD honors state- and national‑level marching band and mariachi champions

The Roma Independent School District Board of Trustees opened its Dec. 17 meeting by recognizing recent student music achievements. Mr. Daniel Renteria presented the Roma High School Mighty Gladiator Marching Band, which competed at the 2025 UIL State Marching Contest, and two mariachi ensembles that were named national champions at the 2025 Mariachi Extravaganza.
The board acknowledged Roma Middle School Mariachi Escandon as 2025 Mariachi Extravaganza MS Group National Champions and Roma High School Mariachi Nuevo Santander as 2025 Mariachi Extravaganza HS Group National Champions. The recognitions were presented during the meeting’s student/staff recognition agenda item; no board action was required.
