Board approves plan to publish delinquent taxpayers' names after Linebarger presentation

Representatives from Linebarger Goggan, Blaire & Sampson, L.P. presented the district’s Delinquent Tax Collections report and answered trustees’ questions during the Aug. 21 meeting. Michael Carrillo led the presentation; Kathy Henderson and Steven Saucedo were listed as participants.
Following the presentation, trustees voted to approve a proposal to publish the names of delinquent taxpayers in local newspapers in September 2025. The motion was made by Michaela Alston, seconded by Bonni Randall and carried 6-0. The action was listed under Objective 4.2 in the meeting agenda and minutes.
District staff and the outside collection firm discussed procedures for collections and outreach during the Q&A portion of the presentation. The board did not provide additional policy changes at the meeting beyond approving the publication step.
