Rockdale ISD board creates School Library Advisory Council to comply with SB 13

The Rockdale ISD Board of Trustees on Aug. 18, 2025 approved updates to EFB (LOCAL) to formally establish a School Library Advisory Council, in compliance with Senate Bill 13.
Trustee Janice Keen moved to approve the update and Trustee Scott Heintze seconded; the motion carried 7–0. The board noted the change is intended to create a local council to review and make recommendations about library materials and related policies, consistent with state law.
