Officials say warming-center construction is on schedule for mid-November opening

At the Aug. 6 meeting the board received a brief construction update on the county warming center. Mr. Bauer reported that structural steel and rafters were being installed and that the project remained on schedule.
The chair said he had spoken with the emergency management lead, who will determine when the facility can open, and the board discussed a target opening date of Nov. 15. “Hopefully, they'll be ready to go by November 15,” the chair said. No change in vendor was requested; the mayors consulted previously told the chair they were satisfied with the current operator and commissioners indicated they were not inclined to change vendors at this stage.
