Owner proposes keeping subdivision road private and donates 1.2 acres to complete Youngs Field

Supervisor Corcoran told the board that Jeff Aldrich, owner of a subdivision adjacent to Youngs Field, has requested an exemption in the Town Code that would allow his roadway to remain private. Mr. Aldrich has offered to donate 1.2 additional acres to the town that would bring the donated land to include the entire softball field; the original land donation had divided the field.
The board discussed the request briefly and Supervisor Corcoran said he would consult other boards and departments for input and discuss the matter again at a future meeting. No formal motion or vote on the exemption was recorded at this workshop meeting.
If the town accepts the donation and an exemption is considered, the Planning Board and other departments will likely review site and legal implications before any final approvals.
