Town Board reviews water-district terms for Marlborough Resort

Supervisor Corcoran summarized the proposed water-district extension for the Marlborough Resort during a Feb. 10 public hearing in Milton, saying the developer has preliminary Planning Board approval and has outlined infrastructure and payment commitments. "Marlborough Resort will pay $600,000.00 into the water district in three installments," Corcoran said.
Corcoran described the project's estimated water demand as 50,000 to 65,000 gallons per day, while adding that the resort would likely use about 25,000 to 30,000 gallons per day. He said the developer will install a 65,000-gallon holding tank and deposit the $600,000 into an account earmarked for water-related infrastructure. The payment schedule described was $200,000 upon issuance of a building permit or when the developer asks to connect to the district, $200,000 18 months later and $200,000 18 months after that. Corcoran also said the developer would have two years to begin construction or the contract becomes null and void.
No members of the public spoke during the hearing. The board took no additional formal action on the extension at the hearing beyond receiving the presentation and hearing public comment.
