The Village of Kenilworth received a status update June 15 on the Lakefront Improvement Project from Bulley & Andrews project manager Paul Ardizzoni and project representative Michael Cottick. Ardizzoni detailed contractor contingency uses, lost working days from weather and unforeseen conditions, and the use of overtime to recover schedule; he said the project team plans to open a major portion of the project on June 30, 2026 while work continues toward full completion afterward.
Mr. Ardizzoni presented photographs and explained the logistic plan for safe entrance and egress around areas still under construction. Trustees asked about the ramp material; Mr. Cottick said the ramp will be built of Kumaru, a dense tropical hardwood selected for its resistance to weathering. The Board earlier approved Change Orders 5 and 6 to the Bulley & Andrews contract, increasing the contract price by $157,686.75 to a Guaranteed Maximum Price of $7,684,882.58, as part of an omnibus vote approved 6–0.
