Board adopts FY25 reappropriation ordinance to reconcile year-end expenses

Finance Director Stephanie Harris told the board the ordinance is a standard year-end reappropriation required by Missouri law to ensure the city does not spend more than budgeted and to capture expenses incurred during the fiscal year. She outlined key items included in the amendment: payouts for accrued sick and vacation time for separated employees, transfers to reconcile administrative charges, costs related to legal cases and contractor work, additional costs tied to the new trash and recycling contract, and the required local match for accepted federal grants.
After the presentation the governing body read the ordinance on first and second readings and voted to approve it unanimously. Harris said this is one of two routine budget amendments performed annually; board members expressed appreciation for staff work on year-end reconciliation and had no substantive questions.
