The Village of Kincaid board voted to award the Phase 2 sewer contract to E.L. Pruitt after reviewing two bids for work on the south side of the railroad. Mayor Tony Pezze told the board the bids were for $996,225 (E.L. Pruitt) and $1,548,486 (Petersburg Plumbing) and recommended accepting E.L. Pruitt’s lower bid.
"We got 2 bids on that E.L. Pruitt for $996,225.00 and one from Petersburg Plumbing for $1,548,486.00 so I am asking for approval from E.L. Pruitt," Pezze said. Trustee Paso moved to approve the bid and Trustee Dees seconded; the motion carried on an all-aye vote. The board did not record any amendments to the contract during the meeting.
The vote followed a brief discussion in which members acknowledged the absence of the village’s contracted engineer, Daniel Luka of Chastain & Associates, who had not attended the meeting. The board agreed to proceed with the low bid, subject to the usual contract review process and attorney approval.
