During review of the handbook, Dr. Mark Olivarez described updates including personnel references, acronyms and formatting. Trustee Aisha Reyes pointed out missing content and what she called a pay schedule error; Dr. Olivarez clarified payroll is monthly. Trustee Cecilia Garza asked about staffing changes; Olivarez said some positions were consolidated and several job titles were corrected. "The handbook is a TASB template and serves as an index of district policies," Superintendent Elsa V. Morris told the Board.
After closed session the Board moved to approve a revised employee contract as discussed; the motion was made by Cecilia Garza, seconded by Ricardo Vela, and passed unanimously. Trustees also approved an additional guardian assignment and stipend in open session.
The Board directed administration to finalize handbook corrections and to implement contract changes as approved.
