I have been in a Mayo Clinic study for three years... and now they are looking at a uh my spleen and then the heart attack and my grandkids play ball on Monday and I missed them last year and I’m not doing it now," Broccardo said, explaining his decision to leave so others can take a turn in office.
He asked the board to begin thinking about potential successors and said he would serve through April to provide a transition if someone is ready to start earlier. The board thanked him for his service; no formal resignation letter or replacement process was recorded at the meeting.
