The Seguin ISD Board of Trustees on April 22 approved proposed budget amendments for April 2025 after District Chief Financial Officer Elizabeth Oaks presented planning materials and February financial statements.
William Dwyer moved to approve the proposed amendments, and Joshua Bright seconded the motion. The motion passed with ayes from all voting trustees (Bright, Burns, Crettenden, Duncan, Dwyer and Mueller) and no nays. The agenda packet included updates on the General Fund, Child Nutrition Fund, and Debt Service Fund for February 2025; Ms. Oaks also highlighted purchases exceeding $50,000 that the board must note.
Board members did not vote on specific new spending authorizations beyond the amendments presented; no dollar amounts for the approved amendments were called out in the public minutes. The district will continue budget planning and provide further detail at future board meetings as needed.
The board also approved contracting with Crowe, LLP for the district's annual financial audit services for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025 as part of the consent agenda.
Next steps: the administration will implement the approved amendments and continue to report monthly financial statements.
